ASHLAND, Ky. — Christopher Prince, 43, of Ashland, has been sentenced to 205 months in federal prison for his role in a drug trafficking operation involving methamphetamine and fentanyl. The sentence was handed down by U.S. District Judge David Bunning.
The grim reality of Prince’s criminal enterprise unfolded in May 2023 when law enforcement from ATF, DEA, and the Northeast Kentucky Drug Task Force uncovered his illegal activities. An investigation led to the seizure of approximately 250 grams of crystal methamphetamine, 3 pounds of meth, 2.5 grams of fentanyl, and two firearms.
Prince confessed to using the firearms as tools in his drug trafficking endeavors. Under federal law, he is required to serve at least 85 percent of his sentence, followed by five years of supervised release.
Cynthia Rieker, Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Kentucky, prosecuted the case on behalf of the United States. The investigation was a collaborative effort between ATF, DEA, and the Northeast Kentucky Drug Task Force.
This conviction is part of the Department of Justice’s “Project Safe Neighborhoods” Program (PSN), which aims to reduce violent crime through comprehensive strategies involving law enforcement agencies at all levels.
