On December 13, 2024, a group of three men from Texas – Dominique Jeremiah Pearson, Onarri Bond, and Xavier Rashad Ross – used force to overpower technicians servicing a credit union ATM in Prattville, Alabama, making off with approximately $179,234 in cash. The violent heist left one technician injured after being struck by a cash cassette and another shoved by one of the defendants. The motive behind the robbery appears to be financial gain.
Pearson, 34, of Spring, Texas, was the latest to be sentenced, receiving 77 months in prison after pleading guilty to bank robbery. He will also serve three years of supervised release. His co-defendants, Bond and Ross, were previously sentenced to 52 months and 72 months in prison, respectively.
The investigation was led by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), with assistance from the Prattville Police Department, the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, and the United States Marshals Service. The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorneys Tara S. Ratz and Joel Feil.
In addition to the prison sentences, the court ordered the three defendants to forfeit the stolen proceeds. The case is part of a larger nationwide initiative, Operation Take Back America, aimed at combating various crimes, including bank robberies.
