Baltimore, Maryland – In a hard-hitting blow to the Monument Street drug trade, U.S. District Judge Ellen L. Hollander yesterday sentenced Brian Blackston, 32, of Baltimore, to 70 months in federal prison for conspiracy to distribute and possess cocaine.
The sentence was announced by U.S. Attorney Erek L. Barron; DEA Assistant Special Agent in Charge Orville O. Greene; and Baltimore Police Commissioner Michael Harrison. Blackston’s plea agreement revealed his role as a key distributor for the notorious OTM DTO.
Investigations by the DEA identified multiple drug trafficking locations, with physical surveillance and intercepted calls leading to Blackston’s identification. His involvement in the conspiracy foresaw distributions of up to 2 kilograms of cocaine and significant quantities of crack cocaine, heroin, and fentanyl.
This sentencing marks the final defendant among 25 charged in the Monument Street investigation, brought under the DOJ’s OCDETF Co-located Strike Forces Initiative. The Baltimore OCDETF Strike Force aims to reduce drug-related violence in the area, showcasing a collaborative effort against organized crime.
U.S. Attorney Barron commended the DEA and Baltimore Police for their work in the case, with Assistant U.S. Attorneys LaRai Everett and James T. Wallner leading the prosecution.
