Blue Grass Man Jailed 18 Years for Child Porn Ring

A Blue Grass man, Christian Brew Allen, 58, has been sentenced to 216 months in federal prison for producing child pornography, a crime that shocks even the most hardened investigators.

According to public court documents and evidence presented at sentencing, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children received CyberTips that an account associated with Allen received, uploaded, and distributed files containing child sexual abuse material. Law enforcement seized electronic devices during a search of Allen’s Blue Grass residence, revealing a disturbing cache of more than 2000 images and 175 videos containing child sexual abuse material.

A forensic examination of the seized electronic devices showed that Allen used the devices to receive, upload, and distribute the images and videos. The investigation revealed that Allen produced and saved several videos of a minor victim, leaving no doubt about his heinous crimes.

After completing his term of imprisonment, Allen will be required to serve an eight-year term of supervised release. There is no parole in the federal system, ensuring that Allen will face the full weight of his crimes for years to come.

Allen was also ordered to pay $97,000 in restitution, a small price for the harm he has inflicted on his victims. United States Attorney Richard D. Westphal of the Southern District of Iowa made the announcement, vowing that those who commit such heinous crimes will be brought to justice.

This case was investigated by the Scott County Sheriff’s Office and brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse launched in May 2006 by the Department of Justice. Led by U.S. Attorneys’ Offices and the Child Exploitation and Obscenity Section, Project Safe Childhood marshals federal, state, and local resources to better locate, apprehend and prosecute individuals who exploit children via the Internet, as well as to identify and rescue victims.
