Boston – Trevon Bell, 27, a member of the Heath Street gang, was sentenced on Friday to more than six years in prison for illegally possessing firearms while under house arrest. Bell, who pleaded guilty to being a felon in possession of a firearm in November 2023, was sentenced by U.S. District Court Chief Judge F. Dennis Saylor IV to 78 months in prison and three years of supervised release.
The investigation began in 2021 when law enforcement intercepted a Snapchat chat featuring individuals displaying images of firearms. Bell, who had been indicted on three separate firearm cases in state court while on home detention with GPS monitoring, was found to have posted multiple videos of himself in possession of firearms to the platform, including one showing him with a black semi-automatic Glock 9 millimeter firearm.
The operation was part of an Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETF) Strike Force Initiative, enabling multi-agency collaboration. The investigation received special assistance from the Boston, Quincy and Lynn Police Departments and the Suffolk County Sheriff’s Department. Assistant U.S. Attorney Christopher Pohl prosecuted the case.
