A Leavenworth County man has been accused of producing and distributing child pornography.
Bradley Hilt, 25, of Linwood, Kansas, was indicted by a federal grand jury on Wednesday, charged with two counts of producing child pornography, one count of distributing child pornography, and one count of possessing child pornography.
The crimes allegedly occurred in 2014 and 2016. The indictment states that Hilt produced child pornography by enticing a minor and taking pictures with a Nokia Lumina cell phone. He is also accused of distributing child pornography images over the internet using a file sharing program.
If convicted, Hilt faces a penalty of not less than 15 years and not more than 30 years in federal prison on each count of production, not less than five years and not more than 10 years on the distribution count, and up to 10 years on the possession count.
The FBI investigated the case, and Assistant U.S. Attorney Kim Flannigan is prosecuting.
Hilt is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty. The indictment merely contains allegations of criminal conduct.
In related news, two other individuals were indicted by the grand jury on unrelated charges.
