Bradley Willem Beun, Coercion or Enticement of a Minor, Ohio 2022

A disturbing tale of child predation has come to light in Uniontown, Ohio, as 42-year-old Bradley Willem Beun was sentenced to 151 months in prison for his heinous crime. Beun, a resident of Uniontown, Ohio, was found guilty of coercion or enticement of a minor.

According to court documents, Beun began an online conversation with an undercover FBI agent in April 2021, expressing interest in meeting the agent’s purported 8-year-old child for the purposes of engaging in sexual conduct. On April 16, 2021, Beun arrived at the pre-determined location to meet the minor and was arrested by law enforcement.

Acting U.S. Attorney Michelle M. Baeppler stated, ‘This defendant took deliberate steps and made real plans to sexually abuse what he believed to be was an eight-year-old child.’ Baeppler commended law enforcement for their hard work in bringing Beun to justice, adding, ‘Thanks to the work of law enforcement, this defendant will no longer have the opportunity to prey upon children.’

FBI Special Agent in Charge Eric B. Smith echoed Baeppler’s sentiments, saying, ‘Our unwavering commitment to protecting innocent and defenseless children is paramount.’ Smith continued, ‘We are dedicated to thoroughly investigating reprehensible behavior from vile individuals and will continue to work diligently to thwart criminal misconduct of this nature.’

Assistant U.S. Attorney Tracey Ballard Tangeman prosecuted the case, which was investigated by the FBI. Beun will serve 151 months in prison, followed by 10 years of supervised release. This case serves as a reminder of the importance of protecting our children from predators like Beun.
