Kuna Man Sentenced to 77 Months for Meth and Gun Crimes
BOISE, Idaho – Brenon Lawrence, a 28-year-old Kuna resident, has been sentenced to 77 months in prison for possession and distribution of methamphetamine and possession of a firearm in furtherance of drug trafficking.
According to court proceedings, Lawrence was arrested on December 9, 2014 in Boise by Boise police officers who went to his residence to arrest him on a state parole warrant.
During the arrest, officers found a loaded 9 mm semi-automatic pistol, a folding knife, an expandable baton, and small plastic baggies containing 14.5 grams of meth in a backpack dropped by Lawrence as he fled the scene.
Lawrence admitted to police that he had stolen the gun from a car the night before in an attempt to get money.
The case was investigated by the Boise Police Department and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms.
Lawrence was sentenced by Chief U.S. District Judge B. Lynn Winmill to 77 months in prison, a $500 fine, and five years of supervised release following his incarceration.
Lawrence had pleaded guilty to the charges on July 21, 2015.
