Jason Prawl, Sex Trafficking of Minors, Connecticut 2016

Bridgeport’s JASON PRAWL, also known as ‘Boots,’ is staring down a life sentence after being charged with sex trafficking two minors. According to the United States Attorney for the District of Connecticut, Deirdre M. Daly, Prawl faces an array of charges stemming from his alleged recruitment and exploitation of minors.

The grim allegations claim that between July 2015 and February 2016, PRAWL engaged in the trafficking of two young victims. The indictment against him was handed down on October 18, 2016, marking a year-long investigation by multiple agencies.

PRAWL has been detained since March 9, 2016, as he appeared today before U.S. Magistrate Judge Donna F. Martinez in Hartford, entering a plea of not guilty to the charges against him. The severity of the accusations is underscored by the mandatory minimum of ten years and a maximum sentence of life imprisonment for sex trafficking of minors.

Despite the serious nature of the charges, Daly emphasized that an indictment does not equate to guilt. The case is now under the scrutiny of the Connecticut Human Trafficking Task Force, FBI, Homeland Security Investigations, Connecticut State Police, Bridgeport Police Department, and Milford Police Department. Assistant U.S. Attorneys Sarala V. Nagala and David E. Novick are leading the prosecution.

As the investigation unfolds, the grim reality of PRAWL’s alleged actions continues to cast a shadow over Bridgeport and beyond. The community remains on edge, awaiting the outcome of this harrowing case.
