Buffalo Man Sentenced for Cocaine Conspiracy

BUFFALO, N.Y. – A 31-year-old Buffalo man has been sentenced to 84 months in prison for his role in a cocaine conspiracy that netted him over a million dollars.

Orville Rodriguez, of Buffalo, was convicted of conspiracy to distribute cocaine and was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Richard J. Arcara.

According to Assistant U.S. Attorney Edward H. White, Rodriguez distributed 10 kilograms of cocaine to co-defendant Marcus Chambers on three separate occasions between July and October of 2008. Chambers paid Rodriguez a total of $1,000,000 for the 30 kilograms of cocaine.

Chambers, who was also convicted of similar drug charges, received a total of 30 kilograms of cocaine from Rodriguez.

The investigation, led by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, revealed a sophisticated drug trafficking operation that went undetected for months.

The sentencing is a major blow to the local drug trade and serves as a reminder of the consequences of engaging in such activities.

U.S. Attorney William J. Hochul, Jr. praised the work of law enforcement agencies in bringing the case to a successful conclusion.

Rodriguez’s sentence marks the culmination of a lengthy investigation and trial, and serves as a warning to others involved in similar activities.
