Buffalo Woman Caught in Cocaine Sting
A 41-year-old Buffalo woman, Tracy D. Anderson, has been sentenced to 30 months in prison for attempting to possess with intent to distribute cocaine.
According to U.S. Attorney William J. Hochul, Jr., Anderson was arrested on August 8, 2012, after accepting delivery of a package that she believed contained cocaine. However, the actual cocaine had been seized by law enforcement officers and replaced with a similar substance.
Anderson had agreed to accept the package in exchange for $200.00. She was subsequently arrested and admitted to her crime.
The sentencing is the culmination of an investigation by the United States Postal Inspection Service and the Drug Enforcement Administration. Inspector in Charge Kevin Niland of the Boston Division and Special Agent in Charge Brian R. Crowell of the New York Field Division led the investigation.
Assistant U.S. Attorneys Timothy C. Lynch and Frank T. Pimintel handled the case and praised the efforts of law enforcement in bringing Anderson to justice.
Anderson’s sentence sends a clear message that attempting to traffic in cocaine will not be tolerated in our community.
The U.S. Attorney’s office thanks the United States Postal Inspection Service and the Drug Enforcement Administration for their tireless efforts in keeping our streets safe.
