A brazen Burbank scammer was slapped with a 10-year prison sentence for ripping off an elderly victim of $1.8 million.
Jamal Nathan Dawood, 55, convinced the victim to let him manage her late brother’s estate, and then looted the funds for his own gain.
Dawood, aka ‘Jimmy Dawood,’ used the cash to buy real estate in La Crescenta and Fontana, fooling the victim into thinking she still owned her home and inherited properties.
But Dawood and his cohorts controlled the companies that held the properties, and the elderly victim was left with nothing.
A federal jury convicted Dawood of six counts of wire fraud and nine counts of money laundering in July 2025.
