CINCINNATI – A grim day in the justice system as a Middletown man is handed a 29-year sentence for sexually exploiting a toddler via Snapchat. Daveion Wright, 32, has been indicted and pleaded guilty to federal charges.
According to court documents, Wright engaged in at least five instances of sexual exploitation with a two-year-old victim. The vile acts were captured on video and shared on the social media platform. One particularly harrowing video, lasting 54 seconds, depicted Wright having intercourse with an adult female while the toddler pushed his hips.
Wright’s despicable behavior didn’t stop there. The United States Attorney for the Southern District of Ohio revealed that local law enforcement had received multiple complaints against Wright involving different child victims between 2019 and 2023. One incident involved inappropriate touching during a sleepover.
The sentence was announced on September 9 by Senior U.S. District Judge Michael R. Barrett. Assistant United States Attorney Kyle J. Healey is representing the United States in this heinous case. The prosecution has been relentless, ensuring justice for the innocent victims.
Senior law enforcement officials, including Elena Iatarola of the FBI and Middletown Police Chief Earl Nelson, stood united in their condemnation of Wright’s actions. This sentencing sends a clear message that such criminal behavior will not be tolerated in our society.
