A Salvadoran national has been brought to justice for his role in a serious crime.
Carlos Alberto Andrade, age 34, a citizen of El Salvador, pleaded guilty yesterday to a one-count indictment for illegal reentry of a removed alien, in violation of Title 8, United States Code, Section 1326(a).
This is a serious offense, and the defendant will face the consequences of his actions.
At sentencing, which is set for August 23, 2018, Andrade faces a maximum term of imprisonment of not more than two years, a fine of $250,000.00, and a mandatory special assessment of $100.00.
Additionally, Andrade is subject to a period of supervised release after imprisonment of up to one year.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office praises the work of the United States Department of Homeland Security in investigating this matter.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Spiro G. Latsis is in charge of the prosecution.
