Heroin Push Led to Hospitalization: Cedar Rapids Man Pleads Guilty
CEDAR RAPIDS, IA – Shawn Albert, a 24-year-old Cedar Rapids resident, admitted in federal court yesterday to distributing heroin that nearly killed a young woman. The guilty plea stems from a September 27, 2015 incident where the victim overdosed after receiving the drugs from Albert, requiring hospitalization. According to court documents, Albert knowingly distributed heroin to another individual who subsequently suffered a near-fatal overdose.
