Centralia Woman Sentenced for Meth Conspiracy
A Centralia woman has been sentenced to prison for her role in a methamphetamine conspiracy. Rachel L. Reeve, 24, of Centralia, Illinois, was sentenced today to 46 months in federal prison, 5 years’ supervised release to follow imprisonment, a $400 fine and a $200 special assessment.
The sentence was handed down after Reeve pleaded guilty in September 2015 to Conspiracy to Manufacture and Distribute Methamphetamine and Possession of Pseudoephedrine Knowing It Would Be Used to Manufacture Methamphetamine.
According to court documents, Reeve agreed to and did provide pills containing pseudoephedrine to others in exchange for cash from approximately December 2012 to February 21, 2014, in Marion, Clinton and Jefferson Counties. Reeve wanted the cash to support her own drug habit.
The investigation that led to Reeve’s conviction was a joint effort between the FBI, the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, the Clinton County Sheriff’s Department, the Illinois State Police Methamphetamine Response Team, and the Centralia Police Department.
Assistant United States Attorney Kit Morrissey handled the case. This is a reminder that methamphetamine manufacturing and distribution is a serious crime with severe consequences.
