BOSTON, MA – Charles Bomman, a 34-year-old resident of Roxbury, Massachusetts, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute controlled substances on February 2024.
According to federal court records, Bomman participated in a conspiracy to distribute various controlled substances, including powdered cocaine, cocaine base (crack) and fentanyl, from 2021 through 2024.
Bomman, who is a member or associate of the Heath Street Gang, was charged and arrested in February 2024, along with over 40 alleged Heath Street Gang members or associates, who were charged with racketeering conspiracy, drug trafficking, firearms and financial fraud charges.
The charge of conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute controlled substances provides for a sentence of up to 20 years in prison, at least three years and up to life of supervised release, and a fine of up to $1 million.
United States Attorney Joshua S. Levy, Boston Police Commissioner Michael Cox, and James M. Ferguson, Special Agent in Charge of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives, Boston Field Division, made the announcement today. The investigation was supported by the Boston Housing Authority Police Department and Massachusetts State Police. Valuable assistance was provided by the Quincy Police Department.
Assistant U.S. Attorneys Michael Crowley and Sarah Hoefle of the Organized Crime & Gang Unit are prosecuting the case. Sentencing is scheduled for April 10, 2025.
Bomman’s guilty plea is a significant blow to the Heath Street Gang, which has been linked to numerous cases of drug trafficking and violence in the Roxbury area.
Bomman’s sentencing will be determined by U.S. District Court Judge Nathaniel M. Gorton based on the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and statutes governing the determination of a sentence in a criminal case.
