Meth Distribution Rocks Fort Hall Community
A 52-year-old Fort Hall man has been charged with distributing methamphetamine in the small Idaho town, sparking concerns for public safety.
According to the indictment, Charles Eugene Allhands distributed methamphetamine on March 5, May 20, and June 9, 2015. If found guilty, Allhands could face up to 20 years in prison, a maximum fine of $1,000,000, and at least three years of supervised release.
The indictment alleges that Allhands’ actions violated Title 21, United States Code, Section 841(a)(1) and (b)(1)(C). An indictment is not evidence of a crime, but rather a means of charging a person with criminal activity.
It is essential to note that Allhands is presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law. The case was investigated by the Fort Hall Police Department, the Bingham County Sheriff’s Office, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
As the investigation unfolds, the community is left wondering about the impact of methamphetamine distribution on their town. Allhands’ case is set to go to trial on December 7, 2015, before Chief District Judge B. Lynn Winmill.
