Danny Paul Cummings, Child Pornography Distribution, Arkansas 2023

Fort Smith, Arkansas – In a chilling turn of justice, Danny Paul Cummings, 47, from Charleston, has been sentenced to 90 months in federal prison for the heinous crime of distributing child pornography. The sentence was handed down by Honorable Chief Judge P. K. Holmes, III during a sentencing hearing at the United States District Court in Fort Smith.

According to court records, Cummings’ descent into darkness began in April 2016 when law enforcement identified him as a Twitter user uploading graphic content depicting child exploitation. A subsequent search warrant at his residence uncovered a trove of horrors: an iPhone, cell phone, laptop, and hard drive containing 565 images and 131 videos of child pornography.

The most disturbing discovery was a video over a minute long featuring an adult male engaging in sexual acts with a young female child. The video was distributed via Cummings’ KIK account, further cementing his role as a predator.

“Protecting our nation remains a top priority,” stated Assistant Special Agent in Charge Nicholas C. Nelson of Homeland Security Investigations. “Our joint efforts with Greenwood and Ozark Police Departments have successfully removed a dangerous element from our community.”

Cummings was indicted by federal authorities in August 2016, pleaded guilty later that year, and now faces a lifetime of supervised release.

This case was investigated by Homeland Security Investigations in collaboration with the Greenwood and Ozark Police Departments. Assistant United States Attorney Denis Dean prosecuted the case on behalf of the United States.
