NORFOLK, Va. – A Chesapeake man, Raymond Antoine Wyche, 25, has been sentenced to 57 months in prison for being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm.
Wyche, who pleaded guilty on June 27, 2016, had been sought for the malicious wounding of two victims in Norfolk. After law enforcement located him at a motel, Wyche attempted to flee but was arrested with a loaded .40 caliber pistol. The firearm was later linked through ballistic tests to the shooting incident on Greenleaf Street.
Wyche was prohibited from possessing firearms due to his previous felony drug charges. His criminal history includes gang affiliations and involvement in several other shootings, which have all been dismissed following victims’ refusal to cooperate.
The U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia, Dana J. Boente, along with Special Agent in Charge Michael B. Boxler of ATF’s Washington Field Division, announced the sentencing after it was handed down by U.S. District Judge Mark S. Davis. Assistant U.S. Attorneys Bill Muhr and V.
