Robert J. Stachura, a 56-year-old man from Oswego, New York, has plead guilty to receipt of child pornography. This isn’t Stachura’s first run-in with the law – in 2015, he was sentenced to 135 months in prison for using the internet to attempt to entice minors and possessing child pornography. After his release in December 2023, Stachura’s term of supervised release began, but he didn’t stay out of trouble for long.
In March 2025, Stachura admitted to possessing an unreported internet-capable cellular phone, a violation of his conditions of release. The phone was found to contain videos and images of child sexual abuse material (CSAM). This latest guilty plea could land Stachura in federal prison for up to 40 years.
First Assistant U.S. Attorney John Sarcone praised the work of the FBI’s Special Agents, saying that their relentless efforts brought Stachura to justice. Sarcone vowed to aggressively pursue anyone involved in this type of behavior, working alongside law enforcement agencies to remove threats from the community.
The FBI’s Child Exploitation and Human Trafficking Task Force will continue to work to protect children from predators like Stachura. As Stachura faces up to 40 years in federal prison, it’s clear that his actions will have serious consequences.
