Dana F. Cain, Child Pornography Distribution, Ohio 2023

North Ridgeville Man Charged with Child Pornography

A disturbing case of child exploitation has come to light in Ohio. Dana F. Cain, a 48-year-old resident of North Ridgeville, has been indicted on one count of distribution of child pornography and one count of possession of a computer that contained child pornography.

According to court documents, Cain downloaded nearly 500 movie files from May 2015 through January 2017. These movies include images of toddlers and young girls being raped and sexually assaulted.

The indictment alleges that Cain possessed an Apple Macbook computer at his home on Avon Belden Road in North Ridgeville, which contained child pornography.

Law enforcement officials from the FBI, North Ridgeville Police Department, and Avon Police Department conducted the investigation, which led to Cain’s indictment.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Michael A. Sullivan is prosecuting the case. An indictment is only a charge and is not evidence of guilt. The defendant is entitled to a fair trial, in which it will be the government’s burden to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.

The sentence for the defendant will be determined by the court after reviewing factors unique to this case, including the defendant’s prior criminal record, if any, the defendant’s role in the offense, and the characteristics of the violation.

It is essential to note that child pornography is a serious crime that can have severe consequences. If convicted, Cain faces a sentence that will be determined by the court, which will not exceed the statutory maximum and will be less than the maximum in most cases.
