James Anthony Morris, a 59-year-old man from Greenfield, Tennessee, has been sentenced to 25 years in federal prison for producing child pornography. The disturbing crime involved Morris setting up a ‘spy camera’ in his bedroom to secretly record multiple minors in the nude and changing clothes. He then distributed some of the child pornographic material to another individual via the Quora social media application.
The investigation, which led to Morris’ guilty plea on April 1, 2026, revealed the shocking extent of his crimes. On July 22, 2026, Senior United States District Judge J. Daniel Breen handed down the sentence, which includes 300 months’ imprisonment and five years of supervised release.
Morris’ sentence reflects the seriousness with which law enforcement agencies and the courts are treating child exploitation and pornography production. As U.S. Attorney D. Michael Dunavant noted, ‘Production of child pornography is a disturbing crime that endangers and harms real child victims.’ The successful prosecution of Morris sends a clear message that those who engage in such despicable behavior will face significant consequences.
The case was investigated by Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), with support from other law enforcement partners. As HSI Nashville Acting Special Agent in Charge Michael Perez stated, ‘HSI remains steadfast in its commitment to protecting children and holding offenders accountable for their actions.’
Morris will be required to comply with the conditions of the Sex Offender Registration & Notification Act (SORNA) upon his release from prison, ensuring that he will be closely monitored and prevented from posing a further threat to the community.
