Hammond, Indiana – In a disturbing case of child exploitation, Christopher Raciti, a 48-year-old former Saint John resident, was sentenced to 78 months in prison for possession of child pornography.
According to court documents, Raciti knowingly possessed more than 600 visual depictions of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct on his computer between November 7, 2015, and March 9, 2016. In January 2018, Raciti was charged by Information and immediately entered a plea of guilty to the charge.
The investigation into Raciti’s activities was conducted by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Homeland Security Investigations (HSI). Assistant United States Attorney Toi Denise Houston handled the case.
Raciti’s sentence includes 78 months in prison, 5 years of supervised release, and the forfeiture of electronic devices associated with his crime. He was also ordered to pay $15,000 in restitution.
