Zaveeyon Teasley, Theft, Ohio 2022

GRIMY TIMES – AKRON, OHIO: Zaveeyon Teasley, a 20-year-old from Cleveland, Ohio, faces serious charges after being accused of orchestrating the daring theft of 30 firearms from a licensed dealer in Akron. The grand jury has officially charged him with one count of theft, marking the start of his grim legal saga.

On November 3, 2022, according to court documents, Teasley is said to have rammed a stolen vehicle through the storefront of a federal firearms dealer. Alongside two alleged co-conspirators, he allegedly swiped an arsenal of weapons from the store. Law enforcement sprang into action and quickly zeroed in on the trio.

Law enforcement executed a search warrant at Teasley’s Cleveland-area residence on January 11, 2023. During the raid, they claim to have uncovered items linking the suspect to the Akron heist. The following day, Teasley was nabbed by authorities.

As the grim headlines roll in, it’s important to remember that an indictment is merely a charge and not evidence of guilt. Teasley will have his day in court, where the government must prove his guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.

In the event of a conviction, the defendant’s sentence will be decided by the Court based on unique factors surrounding the case, including any prior criminal records, if applicable. Sentencing guidelines dictate that the penalty will not exceed the statutory maximum, though it is often less severe.

This high-stakes case has been a collaborative effort between the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF), Bath Police Department, and the Cleveland Police Department. Assistant United States Attorney Peter E. Daly is handling the prosecution.
