Bloomingburg Man Pleads Guilty To Child Enticement

Cody MANN, a 23-year-old resident of Bloomingburg, New York, has been found guilty of child enticement. The crime, which occurred between 2014 and 2016, involved MANN using a cellphone to direct the parent of a four-year-old child to engage in illegal sexual activity with the child.

According to the Information and other documents filed in the case, MANN repeatedly used his cellphone to direct the parent of the child to engage in illegal sexual activity. He also directed the parent to produce and send him images depicting child pornography featuring the child, which he received on his cellphone.

The case was handled by the Office’s White Plains Division, with Assistant United States Attorney Gillian Grossman in charge of the prosecution. Geoffrey S. Berman, the United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York, praised the outstanding work of HSI in this investigation.

MANN faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 10 years in prison and a maximum term of life in prison. The maximum potential sentences are prescribed by Congress and are provided here for informational purposes only, as any sentencing of the defendant will be determined by the judge.
