Antwan L. Hutchinson, Witness Murder, Ohio 2024

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Federal authorities have leveled grave charges against Antwan L. Hutchinson, 25, and Michael J. Favors, 24, for what appears to be a chilling conspiracy involving the murder of witnesses and a thriving drug network.

In a bold move, a federal grand jury indicted the duo on numerous counts including two counts of murder of a witness, and allegations that they were involved in a brutal assault on another individual. The victims, it is claimed, were targeted for perceived debts to their conspiracy.

According to the indictment, Hutchinson and Favors are alleged to have engaged in drug trafficking, selling cocaine, heroin, oxycodone, and marijuana. They’re accused of operating ‘trap houses’ under aliases to store and sell drugs, using coercion and the homes of drug-dependent individuals as their base.

It’s a disturbing narrative that includes claims of intimidation and violence against those perceived as indebted to them or as potential witnesses against their operation. Among the tragic fatalities cited in the charges is Sidney Campbell, who was reportedly killed because he was seen as a threat to the defendants.

The 12-count indictment also covers conspiracy to distribute controlled substances, murder through use of a firearm in relation to drug trafficking, and tampering with witnesses. Hutchinson faces additional counts related to witness tampering, use of firearms during a crime of violence, and in relation to drug trafficking.

Both men were apprehended on March 27 and have been held in custody since. Assistant United States Attorneys David M. DeVillers and Jessica W. Knight are leading the prosecution against them.
