Counterfeit Credit Card Scam Lands Two in Prison
Jackson, MS – Two Florida residents, Fedric Amos Remy, 28, and Geovanni Corrado Davis, 30, both of Kissimmee, Florida, were sentenced to 21 months in prison followed by three years of supervised release for knowingly possessing 15 or more counterfeit access devices with the intent to defraud.
The pair was found in possession of more than 30 counterfeit credit cards and multiple forms of false identification during a traffic stop conducted by the Madison Police Department on January 28, 2015.
As a result of the investigation by the U.S. Secret Service and the Madison Police Department, Remy and Davis were indicted by a federal grand jury and pled guilty on June 30, 2015.
U.S. District Judge William H. Barbour, Jr. handed down the sentence, which was announced by U.S. Attorney Gregory Davis.
This case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Chris Wansley.
The conviction serves as a warning to those who engage in similar activities, as the consequences can be severe. The U.S. Secret Service and the Madison Police Department are to be commended for their tireless efforts in bringing these individuals to justice.
