A brazen smash and grab crew operating from Florida to Massachusetts left a trail of shattered glass and stolen luxury goods in their wake. Ronald Patterson Jr., 35, of Washington D.C. is the latest to face justice for his role in the high-end heists.
Patterson pleaded guilty in September 2021 to conspiracy to transport stolen goods in interstate commerce and one count of interstate transportation of stolen goods. On April 1, 2026, he was sentenced to 37 months in prison and ordered to pay $33,000 in restitution.
The group’s modus operandi was to smash the glass doors of closed stores and grab as much high-end merchandise as they could carry. Many of the burglaries were caught on camera, with videos showing the crew effortlessly snatching designer goods from display racks.
Patterson admitted to participating in 14 such burglaries, with a total haul of $506,532 worth of stolen merchandise. The investigation revealed that he had even listed some of the stolen goods for sale on his social media account.
Assistance in the case came from a range of law enforcement agencies across the country, including the FBI, Wrentham Police, and police departments in New York, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and New Jersey.
