A Peabody man is going down for threatening to pistol whip victims into sending him cash from behind bars, authorities say.
Damien Willette, 31, was sentenced to 51 months in prison for making interstate threats to extort money from two people while serving state prison sentences for his role in the Gangster Disciples gang.
Willette, who was locked up with his alleged co-conspirators, demanded financial assistance from two victims, including a former gang member and their romantic partner, whom he threatened would be ‘blessed out’ of the gang if they didn’t comply.
When the victims tried to cut ties, Willette and his alleged co-conspirators started making threats, telling them it would be ‘bad for you and everyone you know’ if they failed to provide ‘aid and assistance.’
Willette was sentenced in federal court in Boston on September 25, 2025, and will serve three years of supervised release after his prison term.
