A Canton man has pleaded guilty to attempting to transfer obscene material to a minor in a shocking case of online enticement.
Dale Carr, 51, was arrested in September 2019 after he began chatting online with an undercover FBI agent posing as a 13-year-old girl.
Over the course of several weeks, Carr repeatedly asked the agent for sexually explicit photos and videos and expressed an interest in having sex with them.
In October 2019, he sent the agent a close-up photograph of his penis.
Carr faces a maximum of 10 years in prison, a $250,000 fine, and up to three years of supervised release.
He will be sentenced after the completion of a presentence investigation report by the U.S. Probation Office.
A federal district judge will determine any sentence after considering the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and other statutory factors.
The FBI investigated the case.
