Travion Amar Williams, Carjacking with Firearm, Texas 2025

It was a high-speed caper that ended in a guilty plea for the 22-year-old Dallas man accused of carjacking and brandishing a firearm. Travion Amar Williams, the alleged perpetrator, faced United States Magistrate Judge David Horan on August 26, 2025, where he admitted to his role in the Deep Ellum section of Dallas.

Williams and two coconspirators were alleged to have targeted a 2020 Chevrolet Corvette parked near a restaurant. Masked and armed with handguns, they forced the key from the owners, making off with jewelry, a phone, and a wallet. The spree didn’t end there; the trio led police on a harrowing chase that ended when they abandoned the stolen car under a bridge.

But their luck ran out when Williams dropped his Glock Model 19 Gen 5 pistol during their flight from law enforcement. He was apprehended, and today, the consequences of his actions are clear: guilty on one count of carjacking and one count of brandishing a firearm in furtherance of a crime of violence.

Acting United States Attorney for the Northern District of Texas Nancy E. Larson announced the plea deal. Sentencing is set for January 14, 2026, where Williams will face the full brunt of his crimes against society. The Dallas Police Department and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) have been instrumental in bringing this case to a close.

Williams’ coconspirators remain at large, and authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward. This case is a stark reminder of the violent nature of carjackings and the importance of swift justice in protecting our communities.

The trial has been delayed until January 2026, allowing time for the prosecution to prepare their case. Williams’ fate is now in the hands of the court, and the city of Dallas awaits its closure.
