Dallas Meth Kingpin Sentenced to 10 Years

DALLAS, TX – A notorious Dallas meth dealer has been put behind bars for 10 long years. Angel Medina, Jr., aka "June Bug," was sentenced to 120 months in federal prison after pleading guilty to one count of possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute in October 2013.

MEDINA, 27, has been in custody since his arrest in May 2013. He was busted by the Dallas Police Department for selling narcotics to an undercover officer. The meth kingpin admitted to selling an ounce of methamphetamine on June 24, 2012, to what turned out to be an undercover cop.

According to documents filed in the case, Medina sold methamphetamine and cocaine base (crack cocaine) on multiple occasions. The evidence presented in court showed that Medina’s methamphetamine racket was a lucrative one, but his reign of terror has finally come to an end.

The case was investigated by the Dallas Police Department, with Assistant U.S. Attorney Jason D. Schall handling the prosecution. U.S. Attorney Sarah R. Saldaña of the Northern District of Texas announced the sentencing.

Medina’s 10-year sentence is a stark reminder that the war on methamphetamine will not be won overnight. The streets of Dallas are a little bit safer today, but the battle against this deadly drug continues.

The Northern District of Texas has taken a firm stance against methamphetamine trafficking, and today’s sentencing is just the latest example of their commitment to justice.
