Heroin Dealer Sentenced to 90 Months in Federal Prison
JOHNSTOWN, Pa. – In a major blow to the city’s heroin trade, a local resident has been sentenced to 90 months in federal prison for distributing the highly addictive substance.
Damian C. Jeffers, Sr., 44, of Johnstown, was handed down the sentence by United States District Judge Kim R. Gibson on January 7, 2013, the date of the crime.
According to information presented to the court, Jeffers distributed less than 100 grams of heroin, a charge that carries serious consequences in the eyes of the law.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Stephanie L. Haines on behalf of the government. United States Attorney David J. Hickton commended the Laurel Highlands Resident Agency of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Cambria County Drug Task Force, and the Johnstown Police Department for their tireless efforts in investigating and bringing Jeffers to justice.
