North Branford Man Sentenced for Enticing Minors over Internet Apps
A North Branford man has been sentenced to a lengthy prison term for enticing minors to engage in sexual activity through online apps, Grimy Times has learned.
Daniel Fleischauer, 32, of North Branford, pleaded guilty to enticing a minor to engage in sexual activity, according to the United States Attorney’s Office for the District of Connecticut.
Between approximately 2013 and 2017, Fleischauer communicated with minor females on internet applications, including Kik and Cypher.
At times, the communications involved sexual topics, and Fleischauer sent sexually explicit images of himself to minor females, and he requested, and received, images and videos of minor females engaged in sexually explicit conduct.
Fleischauer believed that one of the minors with whom he engaged in this conduct was under the age of 12.
Fleischauer has been detained since his arrest on December 13, 2017.
The case is being investigated by the Connecticut Human Trafficking Task Force and Homeland Security Investigations, with the assistance of Kik Interactive.
The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Anastasia E. King.
Fleischauer faces a mandatory minimum term of imprisonment of 10 years and a maximum term of imprisonment of life.
Judge Janet C. Hall scheduled sentencing for February 7, 2019.
