Heroin Dealer Brings Death and Destruction to Wallingford Community
Daniel Guille, a 28-year-old man from Wallingford, Connecticut, has pleaded guilty to distributing heroin, a charge that stems from an ongoing statewide initiative targeting narcotics dealers who distribute heroin, fentanyl, or opioids that cause death or serious injury to users.
Guille’s crime was uncovered after a report of an untimely death of a 30-year-old male on August 31, 2016. The Wallingford Police Department and medical personnel responded to the scene, where they seized 12 wax paper folds, eight of which contained a powdery substance. Forensic analysis confirmed that the substance tested positive for the presence of fentanyl and heroin.
The investigation revealed that Guille had provided the drugs to the victim shortly before the victim’s death. Guille has been detained since his arrest on January 19, 2017, and is scheduled to be sentenced by U.S. District Judge Alvin W. Thompson in Hartford on July 12, 2017.
Guille faces a maximum term of imprisonment of 20 years for his crime. This is a stark reminder of the dangers of heroin and the devastating impact it has on families and communities.
The investigation was conducted by the Drug Enforcement Administration’s New Haven Tactical Diversion Squad, Wallingford Police Department, U.S. Postal Inspection Service, and State of Connecticut Department of Parole and Community Services. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney John T. Pierpont, Jr.
As our community grapples with the opioid epidemic, it is essential that we hold accountable those who contribute to this crisis. Guille’s guilty plea is a step in the right direction, and we hope that it will serve as a deterrent to others who would engage in similar activities.
We will continue to follow this story and provide updates as more information becomes available.
