Darius Alexander Savage, Stealing Firearms from a Dealer, West Virginia 2022

WHEELING, WEST VIRGINIA – DARIUS ALEXANDER SAVAGE, 24, FACES UP TO 10 YEARS IN PRISON

Darius Alexander Savage, a 24-year-old man from Wheeling, West Virginia, has admitted to a serious firearms crime. United States Attorney William Ihlenfeld made the announcement.

Savage pleaded guilty today to one count of Stealing Firearms from a Dealer. The crime occurred in February 2022 in Ohio County. Savage admitted to stealing three pistols from a licensed firearms dealer.

Under the Federal Sentencing Guidelines, Savage faces up to 10 years of incarceration and a fine of up to $250,000. The actual sentence imposed will be based upon the seriousness of the offenses and the prior criminal history, if any, of the defendant.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Clayton J. Reid is prosecuting the case on behalf of the government. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, the West Virginia State Police, and the Ohio County Sheriff’s Office investigated the crime.

U.S. Magistrate Judge James P. Mazzone presided over the case. Savage’s guilty plea is a significant step in the process, and he will now face the consequences of his actions.
