A Falls City man has been sentenced for his involvement in a disturbing case of child pornography.
Darren Tracy, 55, was sentenced to 71 months’ imprisonment for receipt of child pornography in federal court in Lincoln, Nebraska.
According to the investigation, in March 2024, a Richardson County investigator discovered child pornography in the hidden photo album of Tracy’s cell phone during an unrelated investigation.
Investigators obtained a search warrant for the phone and associated iCloud account and located 910 files containing child pornography, including 419 images, 71 videos, and 420 duplicate images.
Metadata showed that the files were obtained between May 1, 2020, through December 31, 2023.
When interviewed by investigators, Tracy admitted to downloading the images from the internet.
Tracy will begin a 5-year term of supervised release after his release from prison and was ordered to pay $6,000 in restitution to victims.
This case was investigated by the Richardson County Sheriff’s Office and was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse launched in May 2006.
United States Attorney Lesley A. Woods announced the sentencing on May 8, 2026. United States District Judge Susan M. Bazis presided over the case.
