A Honduran national has been convicted of re-entering the United States after being previously deported.
Darwin Xavier Gonzalez-Munoz, 30, pleaded guilty on April 30, 2025, to illegal re-entry of a removed alien, in violation of Title 8, United States Code, Section 1326(a).
According to the bill of information filed against him, Gonzalez-Munoz re-entered the United States after being previously deported on or about June 24, 2024.
This case is part of Operation Take Back America, a nationwide initiative that aims to repel the invasion of illegal immigration and protect communities from perpetrators of violent crime.
The case was investigated by United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement and Enforcement Removal Operations.
Assistant United States Attorney Mary Katherine Kaufman of the General Crimes Unit is in charge of the prosecution.
Gonzalez-Munoz faces up to two years imprisonment, a fine of up to $250,000, up to one year of supervised release, and a mandatory $100 special assessment fee at sentencing.
