A Baltimore court handed down a harsh sentence to a Pennsylvania man accused of capturing and possessing explicit images of a 7-year-old minor in Maryland.
David Donnell Fulton, 32, of York, Pennsylvania, was sentenced to 15 years in federal prison for one count of sexual exploitation of a child.
According to the guilty plea, Fulton traveled with friends and family to Great Wolf Lodge in Elkton, Maryland, during Memorial Day Weekend 2024. While the minor victim slept, Fulton used his iPhone to capture an image of her genitals.
A few days later, law enforcement seized several devices from Fulton’s home and found explicit images, including the 7-year-old victim.
Fulton will serve 15 years in federal prison followed by 20 years of supervised release. He is also required to register as a sex offender for life.
The investigation was part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative to combat child sexual exploitation and abuse. The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Maryland commended the FBI, District Attorney’s Office for Dauphin County, and local law enforcement agencies for their work in the case.
Fulton’s case serves as a stark reminder of the importance of protecting children from exploitation and abuse.
