David Terrell Parrow, Methamphetamine Distribution, Iowa 2023

March 8, 2023

DAVENPORT, IA – A shocking crime has shaken the quiet streets of Davenport. David Terrell Parrow, 47, was sentenced to 235 months in federal prison for conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine.

According to court documents and evidence presented at sentencing, Parrow sold a pound of methamphetamine on two separate occasions to a confidential informant, putting the community at risk. In January 2022, the Davenport Police Department then executed a search warrant on Parrow’s residence and recovered marijuana and cocaine base.

Following his prison term, Parrow will serve five years of supervised release, a harsh punishment that aims to deter future crimes. United States Attorney Richard D. Westphal of the Southern District of Iowa made the announcement, bringing closure to the community.

This case is part of Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), a program bringing together all levels of law enforcement and the communities they serve to reduce violent crime and gun violence, and to make our neighborhoods safer for everyone.

In May 2021, the government launched a violent crime reduction strategy strengthening PSN based on these core principles: fostering trust and legitimacy in our communities, supporting community-based organizations that help prevent violence from occurring in the first place, setting focused and strategic enforcement priorities and measuring the results.

The sentencing of David Terrell Parrow serves as a stark reminder of the dangers of methamphetamine distribution. With a 19-year prison sentence, Parrow will have ample time to reflect on his actions and the harm caused to the community. As the community moves forward, it’s essential to address the root causes of crime and work towards a safer future for all.
