Davon Stephon Williams Sentenced to 13+ Years for Armed Robbery
A 23-year-old Washington D.C. man has been sentenced to over 13 years in prison for his role in a string of armed robberies in Maryland.
Davon Stephon Williams was sentenced to 162 months in prison by U.S. District Judge Roger W. Titus, followed by five years of supervised release. Williams was also ordered to pay restitution of $242,248.53.
The robberies took place over the course of a few months in 2011 and 2012. On October 7, 2011, Williams and a co-conspirator entered the cash office at a Walmart in Hyattsville, Maryland, demanding money from employees. The pair fled with $140,000 in a stolen van.
On January 9, 2012, Williams and his co-conspirators robbed the Down Town Locker Room in Forestville, Maryland, of $1,248.53. The following week, on January 16, 2012, a co-conspirator of Williams and co-defendant Jeffery Louis Adams confronted an employee of Garda Cash Logistics who was carrying a bag containing $88,659.03 in cash and $13,337.90 in checks from the Bowie Walmart store.
Adams, 34, of Washington D.C., has previously pleaded guilty to his participation in the January 16 robbery and to two other robberies: a bank in Lexington Park, Maryland, stealing $109,750; and a credit union in Clinton, Maryland, stealing $100,427. Adams is scheduled to be sentenced on December 16, 2013.
United States Attorney Rod J. Rosenstein commended the FBI and Prince George’s County Police Department for their work in the investigation. ‘I commend the FBI and Prince George’s County Police Department for their work in this case,’ said Rosenstein. ‘Their dedication and perseverance helped bring these violent offenders to justice.’
