Delaware Man Sentenced for Heroin Trafficking
CLARKSBURG, WEST VIRGINIA – Antonio DeJesus, a 28-year-old resident of Clarksburg and originally from Delaware, was sentenced to 46 months in prison for heroin trafficking, announced United States Attorney William J. Ihlenfeld, II.
According to an investigation by the Clarksburg, West Virginia Police Department and the Greater Harrison County Drug and Violent Crime Task Force, a HIDTA-funded initiative, DeJesus conspired with others to possess and distribute heroin in Harrison County, West Virginia throughout August and September 2014.
The investigation revealed that DeJesus’s actions were part of a larger conspiracy to distribute heroin in the area.
DeJesus pled guilty in December 2014 to one count of “Conspiracy to Possess with Intent to Distribute and to Distribute Heroin.”
Assistant U.S. Attorney Shawn Morgan prosecuted the case on behalf of the government, working tirelessly to bring DeJesus to justice.
U.S. District Judge Irene M. Keeley presided over the case, delivering the sentence of 46 months in prison.
The case serves as a reminder of the ongoing struggle against heroin trafficking in West Virginia, and the importance of collaboration between law enforcement agencies to combat this threat.
