Local Man Indicted on Meth Charge
Delvin Eagle Chasing, a 35-year-old Milbank man, has been indicted on a federal charge of Possession with Intent to Distribute a Controlled Substance, according to a recent indictment. The charge carries a maximum penalty of up to life in prison and/or a $1,000,000 fine, three years of supervised release, and $100 to the Federal Crime Victims Fund for each Count. Restitution may also be ordered.
The Indictment alleges that on January 12, 2021, in Eagle Butte, South Dakota, Eagle Chasing did knowingly and intentionally possess with intent to distribute a mixture or substance containing a detectable amount of methamphetamine. The charge is merely an accusation, and Eagle Chasing is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
The investigation is being conducted by the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe Law Enforcement Services and the Northern Plains Safe Trails Drug Enforcement Task Force. Assistant U.S. Attorney Meghan N. Dilges is prosecuting the case.
