DETROIT MAN ADMITS TO CRACK COCAINE DISTRIBUTION CHARGE
CLARKSBURG, WEST VIRGINIA – A Detroit man pleaded guilty to a serious crime that has shaken the community.
Patrick Collins, 31, of Detroit, Michigan, admitted to one count of conspiracy to distribute controlled substances. The charges stem from his involvement in distributing crack cocaine and heroin in Monongalia County from the summer of 2020 to October 2020.
Collins’ actions have put the safety of West Virginia residents at risk. The investigation, conducted by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, & Explosives and the Mon Metro Drug Task Force, has brought him to justice.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Zelda E. Wesley is leading the prosecution. The case has garnered attention from law enforcement agencies across the state.
Collins faces up to 20 years of incarceration and a fine of up to $1,000,000. The actual sentence will be determined by the Federal Sentencing Guidelines, taking into account the seriousness of the offenses and Collins’ prior criminal history.
