Texan Sentenced to 11 Years for Cocaine Trafficking Scheme in Pennsylvania

 

A Texas resident has been sentenced to 11 years in federal prison for his role in a cocaine trafficking scheme that brought in five kilograms or more of the deadly drug.

Dominique Jackson, 27, formerly of Denton, Texas, was handed down the 135-month prison sentence by United States District Judge Donetta W. Ambrose in federal court in Pittsburgh.

According to information presented to the court, Jackson conspired with other individuals to distribute the cocaine between July 2010 and October 7, 2010. Assistant United States Attorney Amy L. Johnston prosecuted the case on behalf of the government.

U.S. Attorney David J. Hickton commended the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Allegheny County Sheriff’s Office, the McKeesport Police Department, the Clairton Police Department, the Allegheny County Housing Authority Police, the Pennsylvania State Police, the Allegheny County Police, and the Munhall Police Department for their investigation and assistance in the case.

The successful prosecution of Jackson is a major blow to the cocaine trafficking ring that was operating in the region. The case highlights the ongoing efforts of law enforcement agencies to combat the scourge of cocaine trafficking and bring those responsible to justice.

As a result of this case, Jackson will serve five years of supervised release after his prison sentence is completed. The sentence is a testament to the dedication and hard work of the investigators and prosecutors who brought this case to fruition.
