Nicholas Michael Freeman, Cocaine Trafficking, Florida 2026

⏱ 2 min read

Nicholas Michael Freeman, a 48-year-old repeat offender from Perry, Florida, has pleaded guilty to possession of cocaine, crack cocaine, and methamphetamine with intent to distribute. Freeman’s guilty plea comes after a Perry Police Department officer caught him manipulating a plastic baggie containing crack cocaine. A subsequent search of his fanny pack revealed a stash of 57 small baggies of methamphetamine, 99 small baggies of crack and powder cocaine, and 25 small baggies of synthetic cannabinoids.

The bust is a result of an investigation by the Perry Police Department and the Drug Enforcement Administration. Freeman’s prior conviction in 2013 for Possession with Intent to Distribute Cocaine and Cocaine Base earned him 84 months in federal prison, but apparently didn’t deter him from continuing his illicit activities.

U.S. Attorney John P. Heekin vowed to aggressively prosecute drug dealers operating in the Northern District of Florida, ensuring that citizens can live in safe, drug-free communities. Freeman now faces at least 10 years in prison and a maximum potential sentence of life imprisonment for his current charges.

The case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Ja, and is part of the Operation Take Back America initiative. Freeman’s guilty plea is a significant win for law enforcement, but highlights the ongoing struggle to combat drug trafficking in the region.
