A speeding silver vehicle crashed into a residential apartment building in DC’s 1300 block of Florida Avenue NE in the early hours of October 22, 2025.
Inside, police found 35-year-old Curtis Nathaniel Suber, a convicted felon, holding a half-empty bottle of Hennessy.
As officers approached, they discovered a loaded Glock .45 with 23 rounds wedged between the seat and center console.
Suber’s backpack contained marijuana, psilocybin mushrooms, oxycodone, and ecstasy, along with digital scales and $4,200 in cash.
He tested positive for cocaine, amphetamines, and fentanyl at the time of arrest.
Suber had just completed a term of supervision for a 2023 conviction of carrying a pistol without a license.
On November 26, 2025, Suber pleaded guilty to unlawful possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
U.S. District Court Judge Beryl A. Howell sentenced Suber to 30 months in prison, plus three years of supervised release.
