Methamphetamine Trafficking Plagues West Virginia
A Marshall County man has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for his role in a methamphetamine trafficking ring. Dustin L. White, 33, of Moundsville, West Virginia, was found guilty of Possession with Intent to Distribute Methamphetamine and Unlawful Possession of Firearms in Furtherance of Drug Trafficking.
White’s crimes date back to March 2019, when he distributed methamphetamine in Marshall County. He also admitted to possessing multiple firearms, including two pistols, a revolver, and a shotgun, during his drug trafficking crimes.
White was sentenced to 130 months of incarceration by U.S. District Judge John Preston Bailey on October 2020. The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Shawn M. Adkins on behalf of the government.
The investigation into White’s crimes was led by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the Marshall County Drug & Violent Crimes Task Force, a HIDTA-funded initiative.
White’s case serves as a reminder of the ongoing struggle against methamphetamine trafficking in West Virginia. The state has seen a significant increase in methamphetamine-related crimes in recent years.
