Dusty Jacaway, Child Pornography Production, Oregon 2024

Dusty Jacaway, 29, of Springfield, Oregon, has been sentenced to 250 months in federal prison for producing child pornography, a heinous crime that has left a trail of devastation in its wake.

According to court documents, the Lane County Sheriff’s Office deputies located Jacaway in a vehicle with a 13-year-old child (MV1) in October 2024. The subsequent analysis of the cell phones of Jacaway and MV1 revealed two videos that Jacaway had curated, displaying him sexually assaulting MV1 in the back seat of his car.

A forensic interview with MV1 revealed the extent of Jacaway’s abuse, which began when the child was just 12 years old. Jacaway met MV1 online and soon began sexually abusing the child. He also provided MV1 with methamphetamine, further exploiting the child’s vulnerability.

Jacaway’s crimes didn’t stop there. He would regularly traffic MV1 to a local pornography shop, where he would accept money and drugs from men in exchange for allowing them to sexually abuse the child. Jacaway kept the money and threatened to kill MV1 if he were ever arrested, a chilling example of the coercive control he exerted over his victim.

The case was investigated by the Lane County Sheriff’s Office and the FBI, with prosecution handled by Adam Delph, Assistant U.S. Attorney for the District of Oregon. Following the completion of his prison sentence, Jacaway will begin a life term of supervised release, a measure designed to protect the community from further harm.

In addition to his prison sentence, Jacaway has been ordered to pay $3,000 in restitution to the victim, a small measure of justice for the irreparable harm he has caused. The sentence of 250 months is a significant one, reflecting the gravity of Jacaway’s crimes and the need to hold perpetrators of child pornography accountable for their actions.

The case of Dusty Jacaway serves as a stark reminder of the dangers of online exploitation and the importance of vigilance in protecting vulnerable children. As law enforcement agencies and prosecutors continue to work tirelessly to combat these heinous crimes, it is essential that we as a society remain committed to supporting victims and holding perpetrators accountable.
